Offensive Player of the Week: Week 2

Stats must be entered by noon each Monday to be included in the POTW poll. 

Offensive Player of the Week Candidates:

Jack Rashid, Duluth East QB, senior: Rashid had a hand in all five Duluth East touchdowns in a 40-35 week 2 loss to Cambridge-Isanti. The senior quarterback went 19-of-31 passing for 350 yards and four touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown. 

Ben Nordmark, Detroit Lakes RB, junior: Nordmark needed just 10 carries to rush for 177 yards and four touchdowns in a 47-0 blowout win over Roseau. Through two games he has amassed 336 rushing yards and is averaging 9.1 yards per carry. 

Ike Volk, Blackduck RB, senior: Volk accounted for 83.5% of Blackduck's total offense in a 32-8 win over Red Lake. He averaged a staggering 20.9 yards per carry, rushing 15 times for 314 yards and four touchdowns as the Drakes moved to 1-1 on the year. 

Jacob Paul, Andover WR, senior: For the second straight week Jacob Paul recorded 171 receiving yards, this time in a 34-26 loss to Osseo. The 6'4 senior caught 10 passes and scored two touchdowns and now leads the state in receiving yards through two games with 342. 

Isaiah Cherrier, Mound Westonka RB/WR, senior (Winner): Cherrier did a little bit of everything in a 38-0 win over Columbia Heights, catching five passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns and rushing 13 times for 71 yards. The senior, who holds a D1 offer from Western Illinois, also picked off a pass on defense. 

Wade Sullivan, Lakeville North RB, senior: Sullivan scored all six Lakeville North touchdowns in a 42-7 win over Eagan. He finished with 18 carries for 175 yards on the ground, good for an average of 9.7 yards per carry. 

Brad Davison, Maple Grove QB, senior: The three-year starter, who is committed to Wisconsin to play basketball, went 13-for-21 passing for 216 yards and three touchdowns in a 32-22 West Metro South district win over Hopkins. Davison also led the Crimson in rushing, finishing with 121 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. 

Jackson Ness, New London-Spicer RB, senior: Ness carried the ball 22 times for 203 yards and three touchdowns to help New London-Spicer pull of a 42-41 overtime upset of the defending Class 4A state champions from Becker. Ness's Wildcats compete in Class 3A. 

Derek Tomberlin, Annandale QB, senior: Tomberlin threw four touchdowns, all in the first half, as Annandale topped Holy Family by a score of 47-16. The senior finished 13-for-17 passing for 257 yards and added 45 rushing yards in a game that the Cardinals led 47-0 at halftime. 

Alex Riley, Zimmerman QB, senior: Riley averaged 15.1 yards per carry, finishing with 12 carries for 181 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-7 win over Foley. A strong safety on the defensive side of the ball, Riley also recorded seven tackles and an interception to help the Thunder move to 2-0.
