Who to watch under the lights on offense this fall.

Maple Grove quarterback Brad Davison sets up a touchdown pass against East Ridge last season. (Matt Blewett, special to the Star Tribune)

ALL ARE SENIORS UNLESS NOTED

Quarterback

Brad Davison, Maple Grove, 6-3, 200: A three-year starter oozing with poise, athleticism and leadership. Strong, accurate arm. Would be a D-I candidate if he hadn’t committed to Wisconsin to play basketball.

Running Backs

Dominik London, East Ridge, 5-9, 195. Slippery inside runner with great vision, tremendous leg strength. Does not go down easily, has surprising speed to the edges. Future Gopher rushed for 2,211 yards, 20 TDs in 2015.

Wade Sullivan, Lakeville North, 5-7, 165: A rare combination of speed — the quickest feet in the metro — and a wrestler’s toughness. Dangerous kick returner, can turn any play into a TD. Reached the end zone 20 times in 2015.

Athlete

Jackson Martens, Burnsville, 6-2, 210: One of those X-factor athletes who can affect a game in myriad ways. A long strider with top-end speed to pull away. Effective at running back, wide receiver and defensive back.

Receivers/tight end

Tyler Knutson, Prior Lake, 6-4, 190, WR: Prototypical tall possession receiver with better-than-average speed. Excellent route-runner who high-points receptions better than other top receivers.

Jeremiah Coddon, Woodbury, 6-3, 195, WR: Top wide receiver prospect in Minnesota. Tall, with good hands that can catch the ball in traffic. Excellent leaper, fast enough to pull away from defenders.

Nathan Bursch, Woodbury, 6-5, 240, TE: Already committed to Minnesota as a TE. Polished, tenacious blocker, a physical presence on both sides of the ball (he also starts at defensive end). Effective over the middle with dependable hands.

Offensive line

Eric Rousemiller, Lakeville South, C, 6-4, 300: Champion powerlifter who is perhaps the strongest lineman in the state. Four-year starter at center with a strong base who can control the center of the field.

Eric Abojei, Robbinsdale Cooper, OT, 6-5, 300: Committed to Minnesota, dominant in the running game, shoving defenders around easily. Quick enough to get to the second level and handle linebackers.

Nash Jensen, Osseo, OT, 6-4, 340: Converted tight end with exceptional feet for a player of his size. Overwhelms defenders and has improved consistency. North Dakota State-bound.

Eric Wilson, Benilde-St. Margaret’s, OT, 6-4, 280: Plays a game predicated on speed and leverage. Gets into opposing linemen quickly, adept at controlling their movements. Committed to Harvard.

Gavin Blomberg, Providence Academy, OT, 6-4, 300: Quickly coming into his own, runs well and shows good technique. Heady player who finishes one block and looks for another.
