CLASS 2A Friday, 1 p.m.

Pipestone Arrows (13-0) vs. Caledonia Warriors (13-0)

Jim says: The Arrows, who lost to eventual state champion Holdingford in the 2014 semifinals, have made a habit of taking big leads quickly, then leaning on a stingy defense. Pipestone has five shutouts overall and allowed only 35 points in five postseason games. Among its 13 victories is a 15-14 nail-biter over Class 3A finalist Jackson County Central. Thing is, Caledonia can say almost exactly the same things and the Warriors do them just a little bit better.

The pick: Caledonia 26, Pipestone 16

David says: Six-time state champion Caledonia helps give southeastern Minnesota its identity as a football stronghold. The Warriors are at it again, led this time by sophomore quarterback Owen King. He has thrown 40 touchdown passes and just four interceptions. Success in Minnesota calls for running the ball, which the Warriors also do well. But when you have a weapon like King, fire away.

The pick: Caledonia 42, Pipestone 14
