Offensive Player of the Week Candidates:

Travis Toivonen, Red Wing WR, senior: Toivonen was the state leader in receiving yards coming into week 7 and he padded his lead considerably in a 56-50 win over Austin. The senior caught 13 passes for 225 yards and a touchdown to bring his season total to 981 yards. Toivonen is committed to North Dakota. 

Tyler Johnson, Minneapolis North QB, senior: Another game, another Player of the Week nomination for Tyler Johnson. The North QB went 15-for-21 passing for 292 yards and three touchdowns and rushed six times for 103 yards and three more TDs in a 61-0 win over Minneapolis Edison. Johnson has accounted for 29 touchdowns in just six games for the Polars. 

Kyle Lange, Upsala/Swanville RB, senior: Lange finished with 32 carries for 322 yards and four touchdowns in a 33-17 week 7 win over Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. He has scored a touchdown and rushed for at least 157 yards in every game this season. Lange's season rushing total now stands at 1495 yards. 

David McCuskey, Orono RB, senior: McCuskey scored all four Orono touchdowns as the Spartans handed rival Chaska their first Suburban White sub-district loss. He finished with 36 carries for 205 yards in the 27-13 win, and now has 1200 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on the season. 

Jefferson Lee V, Marshall RB, sophomore (winner): The electric 10th grader returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown and went on to score three more on the ground in a 34-0 win over Tri-City United. Lee had 17 carries for 213 yards as Marshall handed TCU their first loss and remained unbeaten. His 21 rushing touchdowns are good for first in the state through seven games. 

Prince Okolie, Fridley RB, junior: Okolie topped 250 yards rushing for the second time this season, finishing with 299 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries in a 35-20 win over St. Anthony. The Tigers are now 5-2 on the season. 

JD Spielman, Eden Prairie RB, senior: Spielman needed just eight carries to rush for 207 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-0 win over Shakopee. He also scored on his only reception, a 54-yarder in the first quarter. The Nebraska commit is averaging 13.7 yards per carry this season as the #1 team in Class 6A has extended their winning streak to 37 games.  

Colton Lampert, Caledonia WR, senior: Lampert caught all four touchdown passes thrown by QB Owen King in a 45-2 win over Dover-Eyota. In total, Lampert had six catches for 142 yards and also intercepted a pass on defense as the Warriors moved to 7-0. 

Stephen Wagner, Stillwater RB, senior: Wagner, who suffers from diabetes, had another huge game as the surging Ponies topped White Bear Lake 40-6 to win their third straight game. Wagner had 30 carries for 216 yards and four touchdowns in the win. The senior has 881 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns while also leading the Stillwater defense in tackles. 

Kyle Birr, Albany RB, senior: Birr averaged 17.2 yards per carry and scored five of the six Albany touchdowns in a 42-0 win over Milaca. He carried the ball eight times for 138 yards and four touchdowns and caught one pass for 44 yards and a TD. Birr's undefeated Huskies will take on Becker, the #1 team in Class 4A, on Thursday to decide the East Central - North sub-district.
