Oct. 8: The Irish look to ease the sting of their first loss while the Panthers seek an undefeated regular season.

The final week of the regular season brings with it the opportunity for several teams to clinch for subdistrict championships but is also the final tune-up for the much anticipated postseason.

There are no shortage of title-hungry teams as evidenced by this week's top games list, but one matchup whets our appetite more than the others: Lakeville North and Rosemount.

The game features a pair of Class 6A powers battling for the inaugural East Metro White crown and also happens to be a rematch of last season's state quarterfinal game won by the Panthers 14-13.

Lakeville North (7-0, 6-0) enters the week ranked No. 2 in the latest Associated Press state high school football poll, while the Irish (6-1, 5-1) come in at No. 3.

A heartbreaking 20-17 loss to Burnsville in Week 7 means Rosemount can only earn a share of the title with a victory. Lakeville North, meanwhile, can win it outright by handing the Irish their second consecutive loss. The Panthers can also finish the regular season undefeated for the first time since 2011.

With Rosemount looking to bounce back and Lakeville North seeking a perfect record, this is undoubtedly our Top Game of the Week.
