Offensive Player of the Week: Week 6

Offensive Player of the Week Candidates:

Logan Hatfield, Bemidji RB, senior: Hatfield followed up a 394-yard performance in week 5 with a 358-yard rushing outburst in week 6. He had 42 carries for 358 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-39 win over Rocori. He leads the state with 1456 rushing yards through six games and is second in the state with 17 rushing touchdowns. 

Chase Harper, Blaine WR/RB, junior: Harper has mainly been used as a receiver in the Blaine offense, and came into week 6 with just 30 rushing yards to his name. That all changed in a 35-21 win over Anoka, as he finished with 227 yards and four rushing touchdowns on 25 carries. He also caught three passes for 21 yards. 

Ty'ree Cox, Columbia Heights RB, junior: Cox topped the 300-yard mark in a 42-40 win over Concordia Academy as he finished with 305 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 36 carries. After a somewhat slow start to the season, Cox has 581 rushing yards and 12 rushing TDs in his last three games. 

Drew Stewart, Lakeville North QB, senior: Stewart went 12-for-17 passing for 195 yards and four touchdowns in a 47-27 win over Eastview. Stewart has thrown 13 touchdowns and just one interception and has a season passer rating of 145.3 for the #2 team in Class 6A. 

Tanner Teige, Big Lake RB, junior (winner): Teige topped his previous season-high by 10 yards as he rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries in a 44-36 win over Duluth East. The junior also scored on his lone reception, a 55-yard TD. 

JD Spielman, Eden Prairie RB, senior: Living up to his reputation, Spielman did a little bit of everything to lead the undefeated Eagles to a 56-29 win over Prior Lake. He carried the ball 17 times for 174 yards and two touchdowns, caught three passes for 61 yards and a TD, and returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown. Then senior is committed to Nebraska. 

Brady Happel, Houston RB, sophomore: Happel scored 71% of the time he was handed the ball in a 64-8 rout of West Lutheran. The sophomore needed only seven carries to rush for 184 yards and five touchdowns. 

Tom Pavek, Mahnomen QB/RB, senior: Pavek topped Happel by scoring on four of his five carries as Mahnomen rolled to a 52-13 win over BGMR. The senior had 5 carries for 133 yards and four TDs and caught two passes for 50 yards. 

Ryan Larson, Braham WR, sophomore: Larson is the first player to be nominated in both the offensive and defensive poll; he was nominated for Defensive Player of the Week in week 4. The sophomore receiver caught nine passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-12 win over East Central. He now has 613 receiving yards on the season. 

Christopher Belling, Sartell-St. Stephen QB, junior: Belling was 10-for-12 passing for 169 yards and five touchdowns as the Sabres topped Sauk Rapids-Rice 49-0 in week 6. The junior QB finished with a perfect passer rating of 158.3 in the win.
