Irondale senior linebacker Tony Sylvester packed almost a season’s worth of highlights into the first three games. In a Week 2 loss to DeLaSalle, Sylvester, the Knights’ middle linebacker, broke the school record for career solo tackles. For the game, Sylvester posted 18 solo tackles, five assisted stops, two sacks among his three tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble.

More disruptive in a Week 3 loss to Benilde-St. Margaret’s, Sylvester recorded 21 tackles (12 solo), two sacks among his whopping eight tackles-for-loss and a 68-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Coach Ben Fuller called the 5-11, 195-pound Sylvester “unblockable right now. His instincts are off the charts.”
