Burnsville is off to a great start this season, going 2-0 after enduring a forgettable eight-year run of finishing with sub-.500 records.

The Blaze's next opponent is a polar opposite.

Lakeville North has become a perennial Class 6A contender, reaching the state tournament in six of the past eight seasons and has won the past five games with Burnsville.

Two big reasons for the Blaze's turnaround have been their ability to consistently run the football and play solid defense. Burnsville has a good offensive line that has helped its many capable runners amass 500 rushing yards on just 93 carries (5.4 yards per carry) in two games.

The Blaze's defense, meanwhile, has allowed just one touchdown, but it should be tested against a Panthers' team that scored 41 points last week.

With Burnsville turning some heads and hoping to turn the corner as a program, this East Metro White subdistrict matchup against Lakeville North is more than deserving to be the Top Game of the Week.
