Offensive Player of the Week Candidates:

Reese Jansen, Eden Valley-Watkins QB, junior: Narrowing this list to 10 players was difficult, but Reese Jansen made the first selection very easy. Jansen went 23-for-30 passing for 322 yards and a school record seven touchdowns in a 56-20 win over Benson. He finished with a near-perfect passer rating of 150.3.

Joey Atkinson, St. Cloud Apollo QB, junior: Atkinson was 24-for-30 passing for an 80 percent completion percentage in a 32-21 win over Cambridge-Isanti. He threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns and had a passer rating of 143.3.

Tyler Johnson, Minneapolis North QB, senior: Johnson went 16-for-27 passing for 210 yards and three touchdowns and added a two-point conversion pass. He also had 10 carries for 52 yards and a rushing TD and picked off a pass on defense in a 42-8 win over Minneapolis Washburn. The senior has offers from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Iowa State.

Brett Swenhaugen, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton QB, senior: Swenhaugen did a little bit of everything in a 43-12 win over Sleepy Eye. He was 12-for-17 passing for 219 yards and two touchdowns and carried the ball 16 times for 153 yards and two TDs. He also compiled seven tackles and a sack on defense.

Zachary Ojile, Spring Lake Park QB, junior: Ojile didn't attempt a single pass but still managed to torch the Chaska defense in a 28-21 win. He had 18 carries for 200 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 11.1 yards per carry.

Kyle Lange, Upsala/Swanville RB, senior: Lange racked up 218 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries in a 39-12 win over Lake Park-Audubon. The senior averaged 8.4 yards per carry.

Mason Carstens, Rochester Lourdes RB, senior: Carstens led the way as defending Class 3A state champ Rochester Lourdes disposed of St. Charles 38-25 in its first step towards a title defense. He had 26 carries for 217 yards and two touchdowns.

Nick Rice, Elk River RB, junior: Every year, Elk River features a few running backs who put up huge numbers, and Nick Rice could be the latest to benefit from playing in the Wing-T offense. Rice only needed 15 carries to run for 204 yards and three touchdowns as the Elks racked up 585 rushing yards in a 51-28 win over Brainerd.

Jefferson Lee V, Marshall RB, sophomore (winner): It wasn't hard to find a Marshall player who posted an impressive stat line in a 68-0 win over Jordan, but Lee's stood out above the rest. He only needed eight carries to run for 118 yards and four touchdowns. He also had two receptions for 42 yards and a TD.

Kennedy Ashley, North Branch WR, senior: Ashley was the clear choice for MVP in North Branch's 21-20 win over Grand Rapids. He caught five passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns (North Branch had 150 passing yards in the game). He also returned a kick 85 yards to account for the other Vikings' TD.
