A look a six players from the Class of 2016 who'll be top recruits:

Eden Prairie linebacker Carter Coughlin, left, celebrated the Eagles' Prep Bowl victory over Totino-Grace in November.

Carter Coughlin

Eden Prairie • LB • 6-4, 205

Instinctive and smooth, with the speed to drop back into pass coverage. The son of former Gopher Bob Coughlin has multiple Division I offers, including national championship game foes Ohio State and Oregon. Minnesota remains in the mix.

JoJo Garcia

East Ridge • DT • 6-2, 270

Already committed to Minnesota, Garcia blends quickness, a solid base and a wrestler’s innate sense of leverage with a bit of a nasty streak. He excels at playing off blockers and stuffing the run.

Seth Green

East Ridge • QB • 6-3, 210

Rumors are swirling that Green might leave East Ridge early. Assuming he stays, the Oregon commit is talented enough to carry the Raptors deep into the 2015 postseason. Strong-armed and athletic, with the ability to extend plays with his legs.

Amani Hooker

Park Center • DB • 6-1, 185

Younger brother of 2013 Mr. Basketball Quinton Hooker, Amani projects as a safety who excels in run support. A sure tackler with good closing speed who hits with the force of a linebacker.

Jamahl Johnson

Prior Lake • DT/NG • 6-1, 315

He can play over the center or in the guard-center gap with equal skill, due to a low center of gravity, surprising quickness and brute strength. Getting interest from most Big Ten schools, as well as Auburn, Georgia and South Carolina of the SEC.

Sam Schlueter

Mayer Lutheran • OL • 6-6, 275

The trend in offensive line recruiting is tall and athletic, and Schlueter is both. He is a tackle who can get out and seal the edge and has the frame to carry more weight. Minnesota offered before his junior year.
