The top 10 heading into Week 5

1. Eden Prairie (5-0): The Eagles have this week off, then finish with two of their final three games at home.

2. Rosemount (4-0): QB Jackson Erdmann was stellar — 19 of 24, 277 yards and two touchdowns — in a comfortable victory over improved Eagan.

3. East Ridge (4-0): Friday’s 50-0 rout of district rival Woodbury was the largest margin of victory in team history.

4. Maple Grove (4-0): Sign of a very good team: The Crimson took Champlin Park’s best shot, an opening-drive touchdown, and followed with three consecutive touchdowns of its own in a 42-14 victory.

5. Totino-Grace (4-0): Running back Kez Flomo’s powerful legs have been towing the TG sled. Another 200 yards rushing to help pull away from Wayzata 42-14.

6. Mounds View (4-0): No defense flies to the ball better than Mounds View’s, which gave up fewer than 100 yards of total offense in shutting out Roseville.

7. Prior Lake (3-1): The Lakers came up with their best defensive effort of the season, forcing five Lakeville North turnovers in a 10-7 victory.

8. Lakeville North (3-1): The Panthers’ defense — their identity — took a huge blow when linebacker Tristyn Hanson broke his leg against Apple Valley earlier this year.

9. Hutchinson (4-0): Message to all who think this Class 4A power couldn’t compete with the best in Class 6A: You’re wrong.

10. Stillwater (4-0): The key to the Ponies’ strong start has been the development of QB DJ Skie and WR Brooks Carroll to take the load off of RB Zach Knox.
