Burnsville wins on OT gamble

• BURNSVILLE 21, EAGAN 20 (OT):

His team trailing 20-19 after scoring a touchdown in overtime, Blaze head coach Tyler Krebs elected to go for a two-point conversion and the victory. Krebs’ gamble paid off when Steph Olson Jr. ran into the end zone to give the Blaze the victory over their South Suburban Conference rival. The Wildcats went first in the extra session and scored a touchdown on a 3-yard touchdown run by running back Troy Brown. The Wildcats kicked the extra point. Burnsville countered with a 2-yard touchdown run by Olson. Eagan forced overtime on a 21-yard field goal by Josh Edelstein with 17 seconds to play in regulation.

• MAHTOMEDI 19, HILL-MURRAY 7: Senior quarterback Kellen Campbell ran 60 yards for his third rushing touchdown of the game, leading the Zephyrs over the Pioneers. Hill-Murray quarterback Sam Westby and running back Marshawn Wilson connected on a score late in the third quarter. But a strong Zephyrs defense and a holding penalty on the Hill-Murray offense helped keep the Pioneers from scoring again.

Prior Lake handles Lakeville South

• PRIOR LAKE 43, LAKEVILLE 21: Sophomore defensive back Payton Anderson returned an interception 82 yards as Prior Lake, ranked No. 8 in the Star Tribune Metro Top 10, defeated Lakeville South. The Lakers’ Alex Hart ran 57 yards to score in the first quarter, and quarterback Jimmy Larson connected with running back Jacob Hitz on an 80-yard touchdown pass. The Cougars got a pair of second-half touchdown runs from senior Tom Duckstad.

• HUTCHINSON 58, ANNANDALE 8: The Tigers ran for seven touchdowns and passed for another score in a dominant victory over their Wright County Conference rival. Senior running backs Robbie Grimsley and Jayden Fleck each rushed for two touchdowns. Sophomore Isaiah Nelson rushed for 100 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown run, in his first varsity appearance for the Tigers.

• ORONO 33, GLENCOE-SILVER LAKE 25: Junior quarterback Hank Seward threw four touchdown passes to lead the Spartans to the Wright County victory. The score was tied 13-13 at halftime before an eventful third quarter in which the Spartans scored 20 points. The game also was delayed twice, once for a power outage and later for lightning in the area. The Panthers scrambled back into the game with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.
