Vitals: 6-1, 200 pounds, senior running back, Minneapolis Washburn

Statistics: Rushed for 1,093 yards in seven games this season. Rushed for 27 of his 34 touchdowns.

Dazzle move: Lauded for his ability to cut and change directions in stride. Four-star recruit rated No. 91 overall in the latest Rivals rankings

College plans: Verbally committed to Gophers in February 2013 but reopened recruitment. Lists Minnesota, Iowa State, Michigan State, Missouri, Illinois and Oklahoma among his preferred schools. Plans to announce college choice Feb. 5, 2014 on national signing day.

What Jones says: “Really, I don’t have a ranking, but I can tell you that I’m going to take an official [visit] to Minnesota. Every school that I take an official to has a possibility.”

On friend and former teammate Raymonte Maynard, who transferred to Chanhassen for his senior season and averages more than 100 yards rushing per game: “If he’s happy where he’s at, then I’m happy. He’s my friend and that’s his decision. I guess it’s working out for him.”

Coach on Jones: “I wholeheartedly believe he would be just as phenomenal in the Lake Conference or the South Suburban or wherever,” Washburn coach Giovan Jenkins said. “He’s just that special.”
