JACQUES PERRA
Roseville

For Perra and his Roseville teammates, Friday’s 32-20 victory at Stillwater was all about making statements.
The 6-3, 220-pound senior quarterback continued his Peyton Manning-like passing streak of late, completing 18 of 33 passes for 344 yards and four touchdowns. It was his second consecutive game of more than 340 yards and his third in a row with four or more touchdown passes.
“I think it was kind of a landmark game for us,” Perra said. “I think people still had some questions about how good we could be.”
Perra, who came into the season shouldering big expectations as a passer, showed an added dimension to his game by rushing 11 times for 57 yards, including a 27-yard read-option touchdown run that stifled a Stillwater rally.
“I knew the passing game would come because I’m in my third year,” Perra said. “So I worked on my speed and strength over the summer. I can run if I have to.”
Seven of Perra’s completions went to his favorite target, junior receiver Jesper Horsted. Perra and Horsted developed a bond through years of playing catch in back yards but, because Horsted is a grade younger, they hadn’t played organized football together until this year.
“It’s great to be able to throw to him,” Perra said. “I know how he’s going to run routes and that if I throw the ball up, he’s going to come down with it.”

TORY ADAMS
Hutchinson

The senior running back keyed the Tigers’ rally in a 30-14 victory over Delano. He rushed 31 times for 227 yards and two touchdowns and would have had more if not for two touchdowns called back because of penalties.

DENIS BARDASHEVSKIY
Elk River

With 280 yards rushing on only 12 first-half carries, Bardashevskiy not only paced the Elks to their first victory of the season (53-20 over Armstrong), he also became the leading rusher in school history with 3,020 yards.
