Studsrud earns Metro athlete of the week honors

Senior QB's career-best performance nets awards.


Keaton Studsrud has completed 63.6 percent of his passes in the season's first two games without throwing an interception.

Benilde-St. Margaret's senior quarterback and co-captain Keaton Studsrud has been named an athlete of the week by both the Minneapolis StarTribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press for his performance in Friday's 43-16 win at Robbinsdale Cooper.

In the victory, Studsrud completed 14 of 24 passes, netting career highs with 265 passing yards and four touchdowns.

His touchdown passes, two each to Sam Lynch and Jack Sims, went for 15, 21, 22 and 34 yards.

Studsrud also added 80 yards rushing for a career-best 345 yards of total offense and he rushed for a two-point conversion in the victory.

On the season, Studsrud has completed 21 of 33 passes for 403 yards and seven touchdowns while also rushing for 124 yards on 27 carries, totalling 527 yards of offense.
