Stma beats another opponent

On a hot night at St. Michael Middle School West, St. Michael-Albertville searched for a win while battling 90 degree weather. The scoring started off quick when Jackson Greenwaldt ran for a three yard touchdown on a quarter back keep. St. Francis fired right back with a 45 yard screen pass for a touchdown but missed the extra point attempt. At the end of the first quarter the score was 7-6 in favor of the Knights.  

With 4:53 in left the third quarter, a 51 yard catch by the Knights' Austin Wick led to a three yard touchdown run by Noah Evans. Evans also had a huge 50 yard run which led to a 7 yard scoring dash by Jackson Greenwaldt.  In the fourth, St. Francis attempted a comeback with a 27 yard touchdown pass, but the Fighting Saints failed to convert on the two point attempt, leaving the score at 21-12 with 11:15 left to play. Chris Kartes, following a huge game on Thursday against Buffalo, had another touchdown run for 27 yards to give St. Michael-Albertville a 28-12 that would hold for the rest of the game. Another key player for the Knights was was Jordan Joesph who had two interceptions tonight and also had the game clinching interception. 

With this game, the Knights improve their record to 2-0 on the year and St. Francis's record moves to 1-1.
