Hill-Murray has hired Tony Danna as its new head football coach. Danna, 24, is a 2007 graduate of the school and went on to become a 2011 Division III All-America linebacker at the University of St. Thomas. Danna served as the Pioneers’ defensive coordinator in 2012.
Danna becomes Hill-Murray’s fourth football coach in four years. He replaces Mark Mauer, who was at Hill-Murray for one year but resigned in February after being arrested in a prostitution sting in Fridley. Mauer had replaced former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brooks Bollinger, who left after one year to become the quarterbacks coach at the University of Pittsburgh.
