Osseo's Tusler named Mr. Football

Osseo jack-of-all trades Bridgeport Tusler cleans up postseason awards

Osseo standout Bridgeport Tusler was named Mr. Football by the Minnesota State High School Football Coaches Association on Sunday, the latest in a plethora of postseason awards.

Tusler, the Star Tribune, Associated Press and Gatorade player of the Year was also named to the Minnesota Vikings' all-state team.

Tusler rushed for 1,173 yards and 16 touchdowns. He caught 18 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns. He added four additional touchdowns through passing (one), punt returns (two) and on one of his eight interceptions.

Coachable and competitive, Tusler impressed teammates and opponents alike all season.

The other Mr. Football finalists were: Edina’s Marley Allison, Moose Lake-Willow River’s Jake Disterhaupt, Moorhead’s Chase Morlock, Cretin-Derham Hall’s James Onwualu, Minneapolis Washburn’s Noah Scarver, Hutchinson’s Shaun Schindler, Becker’s Brett Watercott, Maple Grove’s Jake Wieneke and Lakeville North’s Alex Wood.
