Mahnomen (13-0) vs. Dawson-Boyd (13-0)

Dictating playing style paramount

Mahnomen: With 333 rushing yards last week, the Indians are well over 4,000 this season. Running the ball takes a little time and effort but when successful crushes an opponents' will. RB Avery Fairbanks and QB Jacob Pavek, each past 1,000 yards rushing, lead the charge.

Dawson-Boyd: Two 50-point games are proof these Prep Bowl newbies can play. Esten Weber and Justin Lee rushed for more than 3,000 yards combined. QB Joey Lee has thrown for more than 20 TDs. The Blackjacks held their last two foes at or near their season low for points.

The difference-maker: Whichever offense can play its preferred style will have a big impact on the outcome.

David says: At worst, an offense with more options can out-think itself. At best, it dictates the game's flow by hurting the defense in various ways. Here's betting the Blackjacks follow the latter path.

Jim says: When teams are practically mirror images of each other, with strong running games and stingy defenses, lean toward experience. This is Mahnomen's ninth Prep Bowl, the Blackjacks' first.
