Peglow's 5 TDs in section quarterfinals ties single-game state record

Kimball's Preston Peglow became the second receiver this year to tie the state's single-game record for receiving touchdowns in a game Tuesday, Oct. 25, during the Class 1A quarterfinals of the section playoffs against Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City.

Peglow turned in an epic performance, catching 11 passes for 237 yards and five touchdowns. The five touchdown catches ties a 43-year-old record set by LeCenter's Dave Mueller in 1968, according to the Minnesota coaches association records.

The record was tied in 1995 by Hill-Murray's Tony Paquette and again in Week 1 of the 2011 regular season by Becker's Joel Hopkins.

Peglow's performance also set a school record for touchdown receptions in a game, according to the Litchfield Independent Review, and his 237 yards landed him on the state's all-time list for receiving yards in a game.

Kimball will take on LeCenter in the Section 4 semifinals at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in LeCenter.
