Metro roundup: Cretin-Derham Hall shuts out Roseville

The Raiders finished the regular season undefeated.

 Suburban East

• CRETIN DERHAM-HALL 34, ROSEVILLE 0: The Raiders cruised to their eighth victory of the year. They outrushed Roseville 280 yards to 39 and finished with 427 total yards. Kendrick Brewster had a big game, rushing 14 times for 100 yards. Conor Rhoda passed for 129 yards and rushed for 93 more for 222 total yards.

Lake
• MINNETONKA 52, HOPKINS 14: Hopkins did itself no favors Wednesday. The Royals lost four fumbles in the second half after trailing just 21-14 at the break. Minnetonka rushed for 311 total yards, led by junior running DeCeon Schumann with 24 carries for 128 yards and one touchdown. Junior returner DeAndre Singleton took the opening kickoff 97 yards to set the early tone for the Skippers.

South Suburban
• EAGAN 28, ROSEMOUNT 7: Eagan’s Drew Bauer certainly seems to be saving his best for last. On Wednesday, the senior quarterback led the Wildcats (4-4) to their fourth victory in their past five games with a solid performance through the air (185 yards and three touchdowns) and on the ground (26 rushes for 149 yards).
• LAKEVILLE SOUTH 43, BURNSVILLE 7: After back-to-back losses, the Cougars (6-2) regained their swagger behind a big night from senior quarterback Mitch Leidner. The future Gopher threw for 258 yards and five touchdowns, and senior wide receiver Matt Heller hauled in eight passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns in a rout of the Blaze.
• BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY 30, APPLE VALLEY 14: Lexis Jones carried 28 times for 118 yards and a touchdown, and Kennedy seized momentum for good with a third-quarter safety in a victory over Apple Valley. Dom McDew-Stauffer had 105 yards rushing and a touchdown, but Apple Valley turned the ball over three times in the loss.

Missota
• HOLY ANGELS 41, CHASKA 7: Junior quarterback Sam Keis ran for three first-quarter touchdowns — two of 50-plus yards — pacing Holy Angels in a dominating conference victory. Keis finished the night with 185 yards rushing on 12 carries and threw a touchdown pass for the Stars (7-1).
• SHAKOPEE 35, NORTHFIELD 21: The Sabers (8-0) wrapped up an undefeated regular season, holding off the Raiders (2-6) to win the conference title. Senior quarterback Zachary Hoffman led the way, carrying 22 times for 155 yards and four touchdowns — two of which came in the first quarter.
• CHANHASSEN 28, RED WING 26: The Wingers nearly rallied from a 28-12 deficit at halftime with two fourth-quarter touchdowns. Junior Andre Page scored to pull Red Wing within 28-26 with 1:43 remaining, but the two-point conversion pass was tipped and fell incomplete. Quarterback Joel Newman, who had 284 yards passing, two touchdowns and no interceptions, led Red Wing. Chanhassen’s Maverick Edmunds carried 18 times for 121 yards.

Mississippi 8
• ROGERS 20, CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI 0: Senior running back Kyle had 24 carries for 111 yards to lead Rogers, which bounced back after its first loss of the season a week ago. Junior kicker Mitch Grupa made field goals of 23 and 27 yards for the Royals.

Tri-Metro
• BRECK 31, BLAKE 21: With under two minutes left in the game, Blake got the ball back trailing 24-21 after stopping Breck on a fourth down attempt. But the Bears’ first-down pass was intercepted by Mustangs junior Taveon Miller, who took it back 40 yards for a touchdown that iced the game.

North Suburban
• CHISAGO LAKES 46, BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S 37: Chisago Lakes scored touchdowns on its first four possessions in the second half to overcome a 10-point deficit and claim the victory at Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Eric Brown rushed 14 times for 172 yards and two touchdown and caught the Wildcats’ final two touchdown passes to turn a 37-30 deficit into the final score. Chisago Lakes gained 408 yards of offense, including 333 on the ground.

Metro Area
• ST. PAUL HIGHLAND PARK 34, MINNEAPOLIS HENRY 6: It was a record-setting night for junior Ryan Marotz, who broke the Highland Park record for receptions in a season. Marotz pushed his total to 56 catches as the Scots cruised past the Patriots in inter-city play. Junior Tray Fears scored three rushing touchdowns for Highland Park.
• ST. PAUL CENTRAL 35, MINNEAPOLIS WASHBURN 0: Central’s defense held the Millers (6-2) to just 88 yards of total offense while registering eight sacks. On defense, the Minutemen (6-2) were led by seniors Adrian Wood (10 tackles) and Jerad Gardner (eight tackles and three sacks), and junior Calvin Carlson (eight tackles and two sacks).
