Grand Meadow defeated previously unbeaten Kittson County Central 21-7 in the 9-Man state semifinals on Friday morning at the Metrodome.
 
Grand Meadow scored first with 10:21 remaining in the second quarter on a 2-yard touchdown run by senior running back Landon Jacobson, his first of two scores in the opening half. Senior quarterback Trenton Bleifus followed that with a 5-yard run for a touchdown with 6:49 remaining in the second quarter. 
 
In the second half, Grand Meadow (12-1) scored on its opening drive when sophomore receiver Micheal Stejskal caught a 20-yard pass from Bleifus. 
 
Kittson County Central (12-1) scored with 4:52 to play in the fourth quarter when senior running back Fernando Blanco caught a 49-yard touchdown pass.
 
Jacobson helped Grand Meadow use up time in a 4-minute, 52-second drive in the fourth quarter. He gained more 200 rushing yards for the game.

 

Recap: Grand Meadow’s Landon Jacobson ran for two first half touchdowns as the Superlarks defeated previously unbeaten Kittson County Central 21-7. Jacobson scored Grand Meadow’s two first half touchdowns, both in the second quarter. The Superlarks opened the second half with a drive that ended on a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Trenton Bleifus to Michael Stejskal to extend the lead to 21-0. Kittson County Central scored its only touchdown late in the fourth quarter on a 49-yard pass from Drew Olsonawski to Fernando Blanco. Grand Meadow took the ensuing kickoff and ran more than four minutes off the fourth quarter clock to keep the Bearcat offense off the field and help seal the victory.

Key of the game: Jacobson, who ran for 207 yards on 33 carries and scored two touchdowns. Jacobson also added eight tackles on defense.

One thing to know: Kittson County Central had 219 yards passing to Grand Meadow’s 98. Grand Meadow out-gained Kittson County on the ground, 257-47.
