Comfortable it was not but No. 3 Prior Lake outlasted Eagan 40-21 on Friday.

The teams combined for six touchdowns in the fourth quarter – three of them by Eagan. The late surge transformed what appeared a blowout for Prior Lake, playing at home.

Trailing 21-0 after three quarters, Eagan used two touchdown passes from Ian Entzion to Andy Jubenville and a 82-yard run from Sam Zenner to make in interesting.

Prior Lake answered them all with touchdowns runs from Blake Weber and Alex Feine and an interception by Desmond Deshay.

Key of the game: Prior Lake’s trio of capable running backs worked the wing-T offensive effectively. Blake Weber and Alex Feine made big gains to the outside while Alex Hart churned out the hard yards. Feine and Hart each scored twice and Weber added a touchdown. Each sparked various drives. A 36-yard Weber run led to Hart’s first score while 30-yard runs by both Hart and Feine set the table for Weber’s touchdown.

Quote of the night: “We had our running game going really well. Blake [Weber] and I like to hit the edge because that’s where we usually get the big yardage.” — Alex Feine

One thing to know: Eagan’s offense never quit, regardless of Prior Lake’s personnel. A 17-play Wildcats drive led to their first touchdown.
