It wasn’t pretty, But to the players wearing Roseville white, their 15-12 victory over Cretin-Derham Hall was the most beautiful thing they had seen.

Quarterback Jacques Perra threw two touchdown passes to Jesper Horsted, the second of which, a 17-yard fade late in the third quarter, gave the Raiders a 15-12 lead.

“Unbelieveable,” Roseville quarterback Jacques Perra said.

Roseville held on through the fourth quarter, coming up with a huge stop on Cretin-Derham Hall on fourth down  Roseville 39 late in the fourth quarter.

Key play: Cretin-Derham Hall had put together a 13-play drive and appeared headed to at least tie the score until Roseville’s defense stopped Blake Banham 2 inches short of a first down on fourth-and-2 with 3:36 left to play.

Quote of the night: “We had a lot of players go down because of the heat, but we never gave up,” said Perra, who shook off a first-half knee injury and five sack to complete 13 of 27 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns.“We always believed in ourselves.”

One thing to know: It was Roseville’s first victory over Cretin-Derham Hall since the Catholic power joined the Suburban East Conference in 2005.
