Cromwell-Wright at Wrenshall
7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 18

Cromwell-Wright's undefeated regular season record is hardly a surprise. The Cardinals, ranked No. 9 in 9-Man, reached the state semifinals last fall and had another appearance in 2014.

Wrenshall, on the other hand, may be turning some heads. The Wrens (6-1, 4-1) are just two years removed from failing to field a varsity team, but have a chance at a share of the league title this season with a victory on Wednesday.

The game features a matchup of high-scoring offenses and stingy defenses. Cromwell-Wright (7-0, 5-0) scores 49 points per game and allows 7.4, while Wrenshall averages 47 ppg and gives up just 8.1.

This may be a preview for what's to come in the playoffs, as both teams compete in Section 5.

The Cardinals defeated the Wrens in the section final in 2014 and hold three-game winning streak in the matchup, including a 56-14 regular season victory last year.
