Proctor at Cloquet
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6

Defense has been the strength of the Proctor program for many years, and the Rails need to show they are in top form this week to slow No. 8-4A Cloquet and record a victory that would move the rivals into a tie atop the Northeast Red subdistrict standings.

Proctor (4-1, 3-1), which has yielded less than 20 points per game in seven of the past eight years, has allowed 9.4 points per game this year.

That average may go up after Friday night, as the Rails try to prune a Lumberjacks offense that averages 44 points behind senior running backs Aahsan Maigag and Spencer Wehr, who have combined for 17 touchdowns. Maigag, however, may not play after sustaining an injury last week, giving Cloquet (5-0, 4-0) one less weapon.

Five of the last seven games between the teams have been decided by a touchdown or less, including last year when Proctor won 9-7.
