Rochester Lourdes at Kasson-Mantorville
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6

Kasson-Mantorville has not had much luck against Rochester Lourdes in recent history. However, the No. 10-4A KoMets are off to their best start since the 2013 season, the last time they reached the state tournament -- and poised to end an eight-game losing streak to their rival when they host the No. 3-3A Eagles on Friday.

Wide receiver and defensive back Wesley Asprey had 208 receiving yards and three touchdowns last week while also returning an interception for a touchdown in the Komets' 55-13 victory over Stewartville.

Rochester Lourdes remains one of the best programs in the state, winning Class 3A state titles in 2010, 2014 and last fall.

Junior quarterback Pat Leary leads the Eagles (5-0, 4-0) in passing and rushing. He had 293 total yards and three touchdowns in a 46-36 win over Lake City on Sept. 22.

However, the team comes into the week having allowed 56 points in their last two games, a defensive weakness the high-scoring KoMets (40 points per game) aim to exploit.
