St. Cloud Tech vs. Alexandria
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29

St. Cloud Tech can stay in the North Central Red subdistrict title race this week with a victory over an Alexandria team hoping to end a two-game skid.

The Tigers (3-1, 2-1) sit a game behind league-leader Moorhead in the standings thanks to a 18-14 loss to the Spuds in Week 3.

St. Cloud Tech averages 35.8 points per game and has plenty of weapons around sophomore quarterback Nate Trewick (710 passing yards, 8 TDs).

North Dakota State commit James Kaczor has proven to be a threat whenever touching the ball. The senior has ran for 259 yards and six touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 232 yards and four TDs. Senior wide receiver Brevyn Spann-Ford, a Gopher commit, has added 142 yards and two TDs.

While he has been slowed in recent weeks, Alexandria senior quarterback Michael Empting continues to lead the Cardinals (2-2, 1-1). He added passing and rushing touchdowns last week to bring his season total to 12 touchdowns.

The Cardinals have won four of the last seven meetings with the Tigers, dating back to 2010. Last season, the teams brought undefeated records into their regular-season finale, a game St. Cloud Tech won 26-19 to take the league title.
