Senior Isaac Hennen was pushed into the spotlight in the 2015 Class 1A state title game against Minneapolis North when Hennen’s brother, Garrett, went down with a knee injury after being the Vikings’ bellcow all season. Isaac filled the role seamlessly, running for 103 yards and three scores to lead Minneota to a 35-18 win and a second straight title.

But in the midst of a 37-game winning streak and a chance to three-peat as Class 1A champion, Minneota fell to Wabasso in the Section 5 semifinals a year ago.

Minneota faces its toughest Southwest West Division rival, Dawson-Boyd, on Friday in a matchup that’ll have Class 1A, Section 5 seeding implications as well. Isaac took time out of his schedule to talk about the upcoming game and his family's state tournament pedigree.
