Monticello vs. Hutchinson
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 1

Monticello's regular-season schedule got noticeably more difficult with the addition of Class 4A powerhouse Hutchinson. The Tigers' program is one of the state's best, posting a 53-6 record over the last five seasons and winning state titles in 2012 and 2013.

The Magic lost three games last year -- all to ranked teams (Alexandria, St. Michael-Albertville, Elk River), and their schedule includes at least two more game against teams with the potential to be ranked in Elk River in Week 2 and Rogers looming in Week 7.

The Tigers, who finished No. 2 in last season's final state rankings, attempt to rebuild its backfield after graduating star running back Isaiah Nelson (1,525 yards, 15 TDs).
