St. Cloud Tech at Alexandria
7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19

The North Central District Red Division has been a two-team race this season, with St. Cloud Tech and Alexandria outpacing the rest of the league behind high-flying offenses. They meet Wednesday to determine which will being crowned champion.

The No. 7-5A Cardinals (7-0, 7-0) have the advantage of playing at home, but it may not matter as no opponent has grounded the team this year. Alexandria is lighting up the scoreboard to the tune of 50.6 points per game. The No. 8-5A Tigers (7-0, 7-0), however, seem to have the offense to keep pace (41.7 ppg).

The game also features two to the state's top quarterbacks in Alexandria's Jaran Roste and Tech's Chris Backes. The seniors are proven dual-threats with Roste throwing for 1,247 yards (16 TDs) and rushing for 542 (14 TDs) while Backes boasts 1,626 passing yards (16 TDs) and 339 rushing yards (7 TDs) this season.
