Rosemount at Lakeville North
7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19

This game may come down to which team capitalizes on the smallest opportunity, because small opportunities are all these defenses are likely to give up.

Lakeville North has allowed just 12 points over the last three weeks while Rosemount has surrendered a total of four points while winning four of its last five games. The only stumble was a 28-17 loss to Farmington on Oct. 7.

The Irish defense was instrumental in last season's win, limiting Panthers running back Wade Sullivan to just 63 yards and no touchdowns. Rosemount will need to repeat the feat this week against the senior, who is fourth in the state in rushing yards (1,187) and second in rushing touchdowns (24).

Rosemount's offense is more diversified and features multiple seniors who are scoring threats, including quarterbacks Blake Tamminen (5 TD passes) and Cody Hogan (3 passing, 5 rushing TDs) and running backs Alec Schimmel and Connor Kleiber, who each have five rushing touchdowns.
