Maple River at Jackson County Central
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1

Jackson County Central was tested early last season, falling in its first two matchups by a total of three points. The Huskies responded by winning 10 consecutive games to finish the year as the Class 3A runners-up.

Maple River was one of Jackson County Central's early stumbling blocks, with the Eagles recording a 17-15 victory in last season's opener.

They return to face the Huskies in a Week 1 rematch, coming off a season that ended with a 17-10 loss to Blue Earth in the Class 2A, Section 2 title game.

One player Maple River won't have to worry about is Jackson County Central's Keegan Moore, a bruising running back who accounted for 1,691 yards and 27 touchdowns as a senior a year ago.
