Grand Meadow at Spring Grove
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9

Week 8 brings many enticing football games, but fans of 9-man football should be drooling over a dream matchup between the top two ranked teams in the class. Two-time reigning champion and top-ranked Grand Meadow makes the trip to take on South East subdistrict and section rival and No. 2-ranked Spring Grove this week.

Not only are these two teams undefeated this season, but they have dominated Section 1 the last four years. The Superlarks have won the section title last three and the Lions won it in 2011.

Neither team has faced an opponent that could keep up this season.

Grand Meadow's closest game was a 30-point win over Randolph, and the Superlarks (7-0, 7-0) average the most point per game (57.6) and surrender the least (5.7) in the subdistrict.

Spring Grove (7-0, 7-0) is equally impressive, scoring 57.6 ppg while giving up just 5.7 ppg. The Lions' 32-point victory over Mabel-Canton was their tightest game of the season.
