Albany at Becker
7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8

Albany and Becker are not only battling for the East Central North subdistrict title but also seeking undefeated seasons.

The reigning Class 4A champion and top-ranked Bulldogs (7-0, 6-0) are blowing away opponents in their follow-up season, averaging 50.4 points per game while surrendering just 7.1 ppg. Becker has three consecutive shutouts since a narrow 29-22 win over Zimmerman in Week 4.

The Huskies (7-0, 6-0) have climbed to No. 2-3A in the polls due, in part, to an offense that may be able to put some points on the board against the vaunted Bulldogs defense. Running back Kyle Birr went wild last week all in the first half of Albany's 42-0 win over Milaca. He rushed for five touchdowns and caught another, bringing his season total 14 total.

Becker, however, has no shortage of weapons. Quarterback Andrew Stanger has thrown for 1,082 yards and 15 TDs, and his top targets are Jake Fobbe, Clayton Gallus and Alex Meidt, who each have at least four TDs this season. Running back Gabe Dertinger and Milan Kent have eight rushing TDs apiece.
