Maple Grove at Prior Lake
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 2

This season's West Metro South subdistrict slate is a gauntlet of top-tier teams that should prepare each squad for a postseason run, and the schedule doesn't lighten up this week as No. 6-6A Maple Grove travels to No. 7-6A Prior Lake.

The Crimson have bounced back nicely from a 28-20 loss to No. 1-6A Eden Prairie in Week 4, recording wins over Wayzata (24-6) and Minnetonka (35-14).

The Lakers are fresh off a stinging 56-29 loss to the Eagles, who scored 20 unanswered points in the final 15 minutes to pull away.

If Prior Lakes hopes to get one back in the win column, it will need to find an answer for Maple Grove running back Isaac Collins. The Skippers failed to do so last week and the senior scored four touchdowns, bringing his season total to 12.

This is a rematch of last season's Class 6A state quarterfinal, in which the Crimson edged the Lakers 10-7.
