Rosemount at Burnsville
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 2

Six weeks into the season, the East Metro White subdistrict has become an interesting three-team race among No. 2-6A Lakeville North (6-0, 5-0), No. 4-6A Rosemount (6-0, 5-0) and No. 5-6A Burnsville (5-1, 4-1).

This week's matchup between the Irish and Blaze can potentially set up a winner-take-all Week 8 scenario, or muddy the waters.

If Rosemount and Lakeville North win this week, both will be undefeated entering their matchup in the regular-season finale. However, if Burnsville defeats the Irish this week, there is the potential for a three-way tie atop the standings should Rosemount defeat the Panthers in the next week.

Defense has keyed both Rosemount and Burnsville's success this season. The Irish surrender just 7.8 points per game and the Blaze 8.3 ppg.

The teams last met in 2011 with Rosemount recording a 38-7 win.
