Eden Prairie at Hopkins
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3

Eden Prairie has not played many close games during its impressive run to four consecutive big-school state titles and a current 32-game winning streak.

The Eagles have been especially dominant against Hopkins, at least until last season when the Royals competed but still fell 34-28.

This season, Hopkins has its work cut out for it again as it hosting the No. 1-6A Eagles on Thursday.

Eden Prairie picked up wins against two ranked Class 6A opponents this season, while Hopkins is coming off a 44-36 loss to No. 10-6A Maple Grove.

The Royals have scored 78 points in their first two games and need to continue that offensive output this week, but they will also need their defense to play well to stick with the Eagles.
