Rogers at St. Michael-Albertville
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3

The Rogers and St. Michael-Albertville rivalry has heated up recently, and these schools, which are just 10 miles apart, look to continue it when they meet in their first North Central Blue subdistrict game.

The teams have split their past two regular-season meetings, with the Knights winning 22-21 last year and Rogers winning 38-37 in overtime two years ago.

The ground attack has been the focus for both teams this season. Players to watch include Blayne Kasper and Logan Paige, who have combined for 356 rushing yards in two games for the No. 8-5A Royals. The Knights counter with Mitchell Kartes and Eric Sjelin, who have 381 total rushing yards.

The Royals enter the game 2-0 while the Knights are 1-1 after rebounding from a Week 1 loss with a 41-0 win over Big Lake.
