Waubun at Stephen-Argyle
7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28

Stephen-Argyle has been the most dominant 9-man program in Minnesota since the turn of the century. The Storm won a state title each year from 2003-07 and in 2009.

Their Week 2 opponent, Waubun, still feels the sting from the last time the teams met. The Storm defeated the Bombers 43-21 in the 2007 state championship game, and Waubun hasn't been back to the tournament since.

With Stephen-Argyle placed in the 9-man West North-1 subdistrict and Waubun in the 9-man West North-2, these teams are bound to meet more often.

Both teams got off to good starts this season, with Stephen-Argyle defeating Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal 40-6 and Waubun defeating Kittson County Central 40-20 in Week 1.

Coincidentally, Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal ended Waubun's season while Kittson County Central ended Stephen-Argyle's last year.
