Prior Lake at Minnetonka
7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28

For a team that has made the state tournament in three of the past four seasons, Prior Lake started out slow in its opener against Centennial. The Lakers surrendered 13 points to open the game, but recovered by scoring 34 unanswered points behind the play of Andrew Owodunni. The senior scored a pair of second-half touchdowns to lead the Lakers' comeback.

Three of the Skippers' five losses last season were by just three points, including a 31-28 defeat to Wayzata in the Class 6A playoffs. Minnetonka pulled out an 8-6 win over Champlin Park by denying a two-point conversion attempt late in the fourth quarter, proving its capability of winning tight games.
