Game recap: Derek Salwei scored on a quarterback sneak with 10.7 seconds left in the game, helping Spring Lake Park overcome three turnovers and a late Andover rally to advance in the Class 5A Section 4 playoffs.

Isley Carrington scored twice for the Panthers (6-3), including a 63-yarder in the third quarter, and Andover’s Jacob Geier had all three touchdowns for the Huskies.

Key to the Game

On Spring Lake Park’s final possession, Carrington was stopped short of the goal line on second down. As the clock ticked past the 20-second mark, Salwei hurried his offense to the line. The senior took a quick snap, stepped to his left and plowed through the line for the score. The play capped an 80-yard, six-minute drive immediately following an Andover touchdown.

One thing to Know

Andover threw an interception on each of its first three possessions of the game — all to Spring Lake Park’s Josh Bauer. The turnovers led to the Panthers’ first 13 points.

Derek Salwei scored on a quarterback sneak with 10.7 seconds left in the game, helping Spring Lake Park overcome a late Andover rally and advance in the Class 5A, Section 4 playoffs with a 25-19 win.

Spring Lake Park jumped out to an early 13-0 lead after Andover threw an interception on each of its first three drives of the game — all to Spring Lake Park’s Josh Bauer.

But the Panthers turned the ball over three times on the day, and needed an 80-yard drive in the games final six minutes to pull out the win
