Bemidji hosts Brainerd in a homecoming game at Bemidji State University's Chet Anderson stadium this week. The matchup has the makings of a Class 5A, outstate powerhouse showdown with both teams playing well during the season's first five weeks.

The Lumberjacks are undefeated and ranked No. 4 while the Warriors, who finished as last year's state tournament runner-up, have dropped just one game.

Brainerd (4-1, 2-0) must slow Bemidji's talented backfield to play spoiler and ruin the Lumberjacks' perfect record.

Bemidji (5-0, 2-0) junior running back Logan Hatfield carried the team in last week's 28-12 victory over Rocori, gaining 249 yards and scoring four touchdowns on the ground.

Brainerd defeated Bemidji 24-20 last year.
