East Ridge at Cretin-Derham Hall

East Ridge and Cretin-Derham Hall are expected to be the top teams in the Suburban East Conference, and they square off Friday at the University of St. Thomas. Cretin-Derham Hall, stung by early exits in the playoffs the last two years, started its season with a 34-27 victory against White Bear Lake. The Raiders' defense was key to its victory last week, as it registered a blocked punt, interception and fumble recovery.

East Ridge's stars shined in the season opener last week. Quarterback Seth Green passed for 307 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Raptors in a 49-0 victory over Park of Cottage Grove. Bobby Remke caught seven passes for 196 yards, and Dominik London rushed for 216 yards on 15 carries.

The last two meetings between these teams were close ones with, Cretin-Derham Hall winning 10-7 in 2013 and 34-24 in 2012.
